Embroidery on canvas
Lithuanian churches hold a great number of twentieth-century vestments embroidered according to popular store-bought embroidery samples. Recurring decorative ornaments sometimes differ only in colours.
Floral ornaments
The blossom of the Passion Flower is one of the most popular plants in the ornaments of the 19th–20th century. It can be recognized from a little cross represented in the centre of the blossom. This plant was discovered in South America, it reminded Spanish missionaries of the Crucifixion of Christ and became a symbol of His suffering.
